doo dee doo

I am soo, soo, behind on blogging! It seems like as soon as school got out I no longer needed something to do to put off doing homework. Which is a total bummer, because school getting out meant the fun stuff was just beginning. So this post'll be packed. Can't say I didn't warn you!

Last week, Tanner went to San Fransisco on a business trip. He is all grown up! He had SUCH a wonderful time. He was able to go to Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz! (And he did a little bit of work ;)) How lucky is he? Growing up, my Dad's business trips weren't this fun (at least, he pretended like they weren't). So while Tanner was getting all excited to go -- I kept being being debbie downer and telling him he wasn't going to have fun! (what do I know?!) I am so so glad I was wrong! And I am so glad to have him back. He learned lots of fun things about windows 8 and got to download it for free, even though it doesn't come out until December, cool, huh?

While Tanner was in SF, I was a lonely girl. I read books and took naps to recover from finals. (I have a long recovery time) It was pure heaven. I finished "Uglies", which was for book club, and started the "The Happiness Project." I am pretty sure I could write my own happiness project book though, it would be called the hurry up and graduate project.

Before Tanner left we went on a date to Tepenyaki and to see "The Lucky One" I loved it. Of course. Seriously though. Unfortunately, it wasn't as smutty as I had hoped (haha just kidding). We also went to Bridal Veil Falls & to Provo Beach Resort for ice cream (BEST EVER) a few days before he left.

After Tanner got home we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. I love the gardens there, so of course, I loved the tulip festival. While we were there we got junky carnival food. We felt like the walking dead for a few hours (or days) afterwards. Why does carnival food always look so good & taste so bad?!

Sunday was so super duper busy. We had been looking forward to a Sunday where I wasn't studying all day, but alas, it was the last Sunday of the month, so instead of studying all day we were visiting/home teaching all day! It was good though. M & M came over and we played a very competitive game of UNO. Woops.

And FINALLY this week I have been going shopping all week to get some work clothes (City Creek & the Outlets with mum). I left j crew with a giant full back today. It felt way good and way fun until I looked at the bank account! It's for work, guys, I had no choice really :)

Happy Thursday! T & I are seeing Avengers tonight & then headed to Logantown for graduation and a walk down memory lane!

t is a rockstar

A few weeks ago Tanner & his personal trainer made a little deal. They both needed to lose 5 pounds in a given amount of time, and if they did, then they would go to Five Guys together (the best part? I didn't have to lose weight and I still got to go!). If one or the other didn't though, they would have to buy each other protein shake powder.

And what do you know? Tanner made his weight! I am so proud of him. He has been working so hard and his been so dedicated, so it is really excited to see goals like this be met. He is awesome.

And, why yes, we thoroughly enjoyed 5 guys.
 {I don't even like burgers and they get me every time!}

fingers in pictures

Pretty view. {Which mostly just gave me a headache} + my finger

We hiked the Y. & ran into my favorite person in the world {amberly!!}. It was da best.

I considered editing this but I just think that finger at the top is too good.
{{Better picture of my hair. Shut up! I love it.}} Last pic I swear.

Our entry.
Hi Mom. I thought this conversation was funny. No one is going to understand it so you better at least laugh.

well hi!

Guess who got a job!

This girl!

FINALLY!! I got hired at Mountain America Credit Union (so formal haha) today! I'm all sorts of happy & relieved! I have been trying for so long to get a job there... & now, I finally did.

OH hey. My hairs are dark! I went dark and short today. I don't know why I don't always just leave my hair like this because I loove it. I guess having it longer and blonder makes me appreciate this more. Remind me never to change it! So, on my way home from getting my hurr done I got pulled over. On the freeway. In a construction zone. Literally my three greatest fears are getting pulled over, driving in construction, and driving on the freeway. Haha. SOOO great. I found a shoulder after a while and pulled over. Apparently I was going 20 over. BUT, the last sign I saw said 65 (I was going 70-75). I totally got trapped in a speed trap, because he said as you come around the  corner the speed limit goes down to 55. I had just come around the corner!

I tried to be nice to him because I feel bad for cops because they have to make people cry and ruin people's days all day. But, by the time he got back to the car I was so totally crying. He wrote me up for 9 over, and DID NOT write me up for being in a construction zone or not having my license. Pulling back onto the freeway was not fun either. But really, the worst part was for sure not being able to speed the rest of the way home haha! I need to get rid of this lead foot of mine; it is starting to cost us.

Sorry for my long dumb story!

Also, a shout out to JAKE and MAKAELA! They are engaged!
Very happy for them. (Now come visit us, I want to see that ring!)

at heart.

Most people are surprised when they find out I make the trek to Brigham City to teach contemporary & ballet classes 3X a month. The drive is for sure NO FUN, but it is oh so worth it.

>>It is worth it because I gain so much<<

+  From being in a studio again.
+ From sharing my passion with others and {hopefully} inspiring them
+ From being around people who inspire me and who push me to be better
+ I get to put on my pointe shoes again {get to? hah!}
+ I get to wake up sore {seriously - it's the best}
+ & I simply get to dance again!

>It is so worth it when<

+ I see dancers make progress
+ They tell me they were so sore after the last class
+ I walk into the studio and hoards of dancers run up and hug me

I am so grateful for the money and time my parents spent giving me the opportunity to pursue my passion when I was younger. I am also grateful that they stood by me when I told them I was done. I am not a professional ballerina, but I am, to the core, a dancer.  I love sharing my passion with others, and I love finally getting to do it in an environment where imperfections are embraced.

I love having a place to go where I can be around people who are the same as me - dancers at heart.
