messy lu

Things got REALLY messy today. Sometimes I'm in control. Sometimes I'm not. After it got on her forehead I threw the towel in and just let her have fun. She loved it. Miss Eloise is also MUCH more interested in the spoon and her bib than the food, but she is slowly getting the hang of it!

SIX MONTHS

Our sweet girl is 6 months old. Oh my! This past month was big for her. She is growing up I tell you. She sits up, giggles, is starting to army crawl, rolls around the room (seriously we have a hashtag #notwhereilefther) and she loves Tanner just so much.

This month:
  • Practicing sitting. Lots of head bumps because your mama is a little too confident in your abilities
  • More time playing outside. Lovin' being outside
  • Puppies + Eloise are like two peas in a pod. Grammie and Gramps got a new puppy -  Zoe.
  • Still hating riding in the car
  • Started rolling to tummy to sleep
  • Growing so fast. 0-3 mo. onesies still fit great but you are already in 6-12 mo pants. Lil miss leggy loo.
  • Too many nicknames to count. We started with Lo and Lulu, which became loo/lu which became Loo-dee-poo.
  • Usually sleeps from 11-10:30 in the morning, but will wake up for her binky once or twice and will wake up to eat sometimes too. We are so not in control.
  • Takes a 3-4 hour nap every afternoon about an hour after she wakes up
  • Eating sweet potatoes, squash, and applesauce  - hating rice cereal
  • First ear infection - BOO!

five months.

it's true. time flies.
When in the world did i get a 5 month old? Soon she'll be a teenager! noooo!

THIS month has been oh so fun. She's rolling all over the place. She's giggling (all though it's kind of hard to get one out of her! We basically have to act like idiots to get her to laugh), she sleeps like a... oh wait she doesn't sleep! Haha. Really though she's an ok sleeper. Not the greatest - like she wakes up screaming because she wants her binkie. Little goof. It's ok though because Tanner is awesome and he usually gives it to her. Sometimes when she cries at night I feed her to get her back to sleep quick. She's the cutest though. She really is a GREAT baby. Takes 3-4 naps during the day, and is all smiles in between. She smiles at everyone everywhere we go, which is a hoot. People think they are special when she smiles at them. They aren't though. She's just a little social baby.

Suddenly she has gotten huge. Like basically skipped 3-6 month clothes. Whaaa??? So now I need to buy her more clothes. Yay! Lately we have been practicing sitting up with her. She is pretty good at it- until she falls and hits her head and cries haha. We usually catch her though. Usually.

This month we tried rice cereal in an attempt to get her to sleep better at night. She liked it when we gave it to her, but we quickly realized that it's really not that much fun feeding her and taker for. ev. er. so we stopped because it wasn't really helping. Babies just really aren't that good at keeping food in their mouths turns out. In all honesty though I'm excited for when we start feeding her more when she is six months old.

She is really the best. We just adore her. Being parents is hard - yeah, but honestly it's the best. Last night we were talking about how she makes everything more fun. It's definitely more effort to get out the door, and we have a plan better. but there is so much more meaning to everything. It's scary knowing what a big job it is, but there is so much beauty and purpose to raising this cute girl. Not much has changed though. I am not a schedule person AT ALL. So we put her to sleep when she's tired and she eats when she is hungry and it works for us, and still allows us to have fun and go places. Which is great.

pregnancy.

i hated just about every second of being pregnant. i was sooo sick the first few months (lost 10 lbs off my starting weight) and then was ok for a while until i got huuuuge, during the hot summer months on a college campus. i read all these blog posts about how beautiful pregnancy is, and how stretch marks are like a badge of honor. welp... i don't really love my stretch marks and i didn't really love being fat, but i sure do love my eloise, so there's that!

3 weeks before i had my sweet girl maki took these pictures. i have a love hate relationship with them, because... like i said... HUGE, but whadda ya do?

the pink hat.

this. hat.
we seriously love it. lulu looks so cute in it it's almost too much to handle. whenever i take her places in it people can't even get enough of it. they are always commenting on it's cuteness!

as cute as the hat is though? i'm still a little partial to the baby in the hat.

blessing day : eloise grace edwards

Eloise's blessing day could not have been more perfect. I woke up that morning and fed her & then we all got ready. It was such a peaceful morning, we had church music playing throughout the house and ate breakfast together, and then had a little pre church photo shoot with the bebe.

Her blessing was beautiful as well. She's got the best Dad who has so much love for her. She is one lucky lucky girl.

After church we had family & friends over for some yummy soup. I'm sooo grateful for such good friends & family that live close. It was a blessed day for a perfect girl. Heaven is surely close when she is around.

{almost} 3 months.

We love our sweet Eloise. {or as we like to call her ::: lulu, loo, lolo, lo, lil wheezy.. etc. yeah homegirl has got a few too many nicknames} Honestly I think I can speak for the both of us when I say being parents is the BEST. I know, I know, that will probably change when she's a bratty 3 year old or when we have to give "the talk" but right now, yeah, things are pretty hunky dory.

It's just SO AMAZING - watching her grow and learn. Having her has made me appreciate what a miracle this life is & made me appreciate those around me & all they do for me. Because when I see this helpless 3 month old - I see that that was me once & my parents selflessly took care of me and loved me & gave their all to me & now... I can't help but do the same for her. She's great.

So life right now: is full of a lot of snuggles and kisses and dirty diapers. Me and Tanner can't get over how funny she is when she burps or laughs at the ceiling fan. WOW does this girl love the ceiling fan. She will lay in our bedroom and watch it and just laugh and laugh. Another funny thing she loves? The screensaver on the apple TV. That cracks her up! Endlessly.

some more fun eloise facts:

\ mornings: they are her absolute favorite... she smiles and laughs and stretches.
\\  she smiles and laughs for everyone. especially herself in the mirror. adorable, i tell ya.
\\\ sleeps semi through the night. usually 11:30-5:30 or 6. sometimes less, sometimes more.
\\\\ loves grandmas + aunt aunties + unkies + grandpa's if they can ever get a turn with her.
